Smile New to travel trailers.

Hello. Just purchased 30 ft Jayco travel trailer. Do you need an equalizer or sway bar And what is the difference ? Thank you. I’m so confused. Lol.

Welcome. You may get better exposure if you would post this in the Towing, Hitching and Tow Vehicle section of the forum.

Congratulations and welcome!

You will want a weight distribution hitch and sway control with that size a TT

You need a weight distribution hitch. Equilizer is a brand of hitch which includes sway control. I suggest you visit a local RV sales store near you and have them help choose a hitch that is suitable for your vehicle and trailer.

What model did you buy? What is your tow vehicle?

30' trailer, yes I would get a weight distribution system and at least one sway control if it is not built into your system. We have 2 sway controls and pull a 23' trailer. Never had a problem even in 40 mph winds coming across a valley. Also agree with Diggerdan; tell us your tow vehicle and model. More information, more specific answers to your question.

Blu Ox makes a very nice WDH setup that has built in sway control. I also like the brackets that bolt in the the trailer frame better than some of the other WDH models...

Oh and welcome to the forum and congrats on the new camper!
