For sure you need:
a water hose
chocks for the wheels
all the manuals for the trailer
food and dishes for everything you plan to eat from the camper
a can opener
an outlet test and/or a voltmeter
a flash light w/spare batteries
a roll of electrical tape
rubber gloves
a sewer hose
blocks for leveling
a screw driver
pliers
if you have kids - entertainment in case it rains

I would suggest camping in your yard or in a campground that is really close to home and a few store. Take a tablet along and as you find things you need but don't have write them down. If they are really critical take a drive and get them.

Hello, and congratulations! A trailer? Keep a dedicated torque wrench in your storage compartment specifically for your wheel lug nuts, and check them EVERY time you put that thing on the road. The warning sticker on the side of the trailer above the wheel wells should always be taken seriously. And... a water pressure regulator; a back-up water pressure regulator; invest in a surge protector for your incoming power hookup; water hose for fresh water; a water hose for dirty jobs (to rinse dump hose); chemicals for your tanks; broom; mats; ice chest filled with your favorite cold beverages...

A small electric heater, drinking water (don't drink from the tanks until you are sure they have been properly sanitized.) Definitely don't forget the disposable gloves to drain the black and grey tanks. A book each, dominoes (our favorite of an evening), fire starters if you can have a campfire, chairs,

Relax, if something goes wrong, consider it a learning experience and move on.

Don't forget to chock your wheels before you take it off the ball!! learned the hard way,

Backyard camp or go to a very local campground, forget the teapot or skillet, pop home or pick one up, Enjoy

Welcome to the Forum from Western New York State! Congratulations on the Jayco! Ditto on the driveway camping, or really close campground. There will probably be things you forget, but I do to. There are checklists online that you can print, and use as you pack, set up, and break camp. They are very useful, and you can laminate them, and use dry erase markers to check items off. Keep watch on this thread, and I'll try to post what we carry in out TT, and TV. It's on our other computer. It's like a living document, and subject to change as time goes on. At first glance, it might be scary!

Welcome to the forum and welcome to the new world of RVing. There are lots of places to get all the info that you need. Here is the best. Pinterest will boggle your mind if you type in "beginner RV camping lists." The best thing to do is to camp in your driveway and make a list of what you forgot. It is fun to boggle the neighbor's minds. If you cannot camp in your driveway as said before, "find somewhere close in town." Keep a list of what you think you need and what you would like. There is a difference between the two words. The most important thing is have fun in the learning process. You are not the only one learning the whole family is, so keep that in mind.
