Newbie question

We live at the foothills of the Rockies and we recently got a Jayco Jay Flight (our first one) and since we are close to the mountain, I was wondering if someone got experience going early in the morning to a park and leave by sunset, so not an overnight camp, just spend the whole day in the mountains. Does anyone have experience doing that? Restrictions I should consider? Like, if I go to lake and park just for the day, is it allowed? (I'm talking about a regular parking lot).
I hope I'm explaining myself correctly, sometime it sounds like a dumb question in my mind but once you leave the house with the trailer is not like you are making a U-turn anywhere.
Thanks.

I take my Class C to the dog park, nearby parks, lake anywhere I can get it. Never had an issue staying the day and then leaving. I have a Class A as well but never took it out for short day runs due to the size limitations of where it can go.

We have stopped at a park to see a waterfall or something else and parked in the parking lot. National and Colorado State parks plus elsewhere. Until you try to sleep overnight it is just another vehicle as long as you are in a legal parking area. A couple of times I have driven through campgrounds just to see what they look like and no one has ever had a problem.
