Unfortunately COVID has things messed up, but we always liked Scotts on the Canadian side.

This is a bit dated but I stayed at Four Mile Creek State Park and enjoyed it.

On the USA side, I would highly recommend 4 Mile Creek State Park. It’s on the shores of Lake Ontario. The 200 loop has spacious sites and electrical hookups. The 100 loop is tighter, but also has electric, including a few 50a sites. The 300 loop is the most spacious loop, but the sites are unserviced.

The park is about 20 minutes from Niagara Falls. It’s a quiet 20 minute drive down a parkway at 55mph. It’s pretty nice.

Also, you can easily visit Fort Niagara located 1 exit down the parkway from the campground. They have a swimming pool there as well, if that’s what you’re looking for. Staying at 4 Mile Creek gives you free parking at Fort Niagara, and you pay a small fee to use the pool.

Our favorite sites 200-212 even numbers.

Another vote for 4 mile. Straight shot down the lightly traveled road to the Falls. When we were there we got free parking at the Falls. Check at office when you check into the campground. Very basic store but not far to some very pretty small towns and shopping outside between the Falls and the campground. Many prior posts on this if you research in the search button above.

Looked at their site....rather bleak looking place!! Hope that was a winter set of pics, albeit no snow.

Bleak? Are you looking at the pics from "Our Story" which is from when they first opened? The slide show at the beginning doesn't look any different than many GS or KOA parks. They have a 8--9.5--8 rating on Good Sam. One of the few CG's that we've ever been in that also provide tubs in the bath house for bathing kids.

Branches of Niagra

Anybody visit this one?

Keep in mind that the Canadian border is currently closed with no date to reopen.

The park I referenced is stateside; it's one of the reasons I'm looking at it.

We have reservations at Niagara Falls/Grand Island KOA from Aug. 1-5. Never been there before. Any thoughts out there on that park?

Niagara Falls/Grand Island KOA is very nice, clean, modern amenities, good family camping. Just 10 minutes to the Falls. You will have to put up with traffic noise from the I-190 if you are in the west section.

Fantasy Island Amusement Park next door closed in 2019. There has been some vandalism there and the grounds have had no maintenance since its closing

Grand Island is a toll road, so keep that in mind. It's not expensive, but it does add it up. I would recommend 4 Mile Creek over Branches or the KOA, plus being a State Park, it gives you free parking at Goat Island.

Also, get your vaccine if you want to visit Canada. Our PM is eluding to the fact that you will need proof of vaccination to get into Canada. It seems to be the way the world is going.

Did he also elude to the fact that that requirement may be for 2023? The border has been closed for over a year now, and they show no signs of wanting Americans any time soon.

American owned cottages in Ontario are rotting away and Americans with Canadian Wives (husbands) have not seen their spouses for a a long time.

The problem is that this is an election year. A bunch of LOUD Canadians don't want the border open, so Trudeau doesn't want to risk losing an election over opening the USA border.

Cases per capita, the USA is doing better than Canada, so this doesn't make a lot of sense.

The only way I see it opening (probably this fall) is by making it open only to fully vaccinated people.

Its funny because the Canadian lockdown has been quite severe. In the US, the degree of lockdown and the covid casualties has not correlated well. The open states are doing better than the locked down ones.

Your PM better be prepared to lose a lot of tourist revenue. I know I for one have no plans to go north on vacation.....maybe not ever!
