No more discount at Tweety's

Just got off the phone with Tweety's looking for a price on a cover for our 5er. When I inquired about the JOF discount he put me on hold for a bit then came back on the line and said they don't do that any longer. Doesn't matter to me though since they had a better deal than anyone else I shopped. They will still get my business since they are so good at what they do.

I agree, they have always been great to work with on my past purchases as well.

And it's interesting how many RV related sites they own. Bet you have been to some.

I did check Amazon but Tweetys beat the best price I found there after considering tax and shipping by about $20 or so.

One other thing I have learned in my several years of buying online, often if you call the vendor rather than just ordering in their online store you can get an even better price. For me it's worth the call.

Wish I had known Tweety's offered a discount to Jaycoowners.com members... oh, well.

What does Socialknowledge.com get out of sponsoring this forum or any other? How do they make money on the deal?

This is their business--not simply sponsorship out of the goodness of their heart. I assume it was probably always part of Tweety's plan to build the site, generate traffic, monetize and sell it.

Based on a couple web tools available, it appears JOF generates ~$2k-$3k month in advertising revenue. As a single site that isn't much money when you consider the cost to run it, however SocialKnowledge own 20+ sites. If they can control costs across multiple forums and leverage economies of scale to their advantage, that makes SocialKnowledge a very nice little business.

Thanks, Clubhouse.

I always have an ad blocker active, so I don't see the ads.

Until today, I didn't know that ownership of the JOF had been sold. And I ordered an item from Tweetys only 5 days ago by phone, and asked for and received the 5% discount. Maybe the rep I spoke to hadn't got the memo about the sale yet ??
