Norcold lawsuit?
Anyone else get a postcard about a class action lawsuit against certain Norcold refrigerators? They claim the cooling unit can have some corrosion that may cause a propane leak and result in a fire.
Just wondering.

Have not seen it but I get them at least once a week from some lawyer and usually they go straight to the recycle bin.

Me to, but it does make me pay attention to the fridge, and keep an eye out for corrosion and leaks.

I got the postcard today, 5-2-16. Just glanced at it. I will study it later tonight. My question is; What do I need to be monitoring?

Is this for certain models of trailers? I own a hybrid with a Norcold fridge and haven't got anything yet.....

Got one today myself. I've also had to have the cooling unit replaced on our Norcold 1200 that was only like 4-5 months old. I'll definitely pay closer attention to what the card says.

Got mine yesterday too. In limited googling, it looks like this has been rolling around for a few years. Involving a few different models. One version was tossed out of court a couple of years ago. Not sure if this one is a revived version, combination of a couple older versions, or what...
One on-line reference to a past one noted that the end result could range from $7 to $150 paid to the end user.
Odd that if there is a significant issue, there hasn't been a mandated recall, as Norcold has done previously. Looks like lots more digging is needed.....

Quahog, you should pay close attention because there is a "larger" payoff for people have already had to pay for a repair. I got my notice yesterday and filled out the on-line claim form today. Piece of cake, maybe something will come of it.

Had my rv in shop for other reason. Checked the fridge while there. They called Norcold. Even though I got a card, mine was not on the list.

Important Safety Recall Information for Norcold RV Refrigerators
1200, 1201, 1210 and 1211, 4 door refrigerators, installed on vehicle models 1997-2010, with cooling unit serial numbers ranging from 700000 to 13085759.
Models N6xx-N8xx, 2 door refrigerators, installed in vehicles during 1999-2000, having cooling units with serial numbers from 1038000 to 1099000.
RV Refrigerator Recall Notice by Norcold | Thetford Corporation
Norcold Inc. has decided to recall certain 1200, 1201, 1210 and 1211 model gas/electric refrigerators with serial numbers from 315525 to 13088811, non consecutively. The refrigerator’s model and serial number are located inside the fresh food compartment. These refrigerators may have cooling units with a cooling unit serial number between 700000 to 13085759. This is a new recall campaign to include all 1200, 1201, 1210 and 1211 models.

Thanks jal0710... I was going cross-eyed trying to read the card because the font is so small.
