Normal Queen instead???

.

My family has 2006 Jayco 29 FBS and it does have walking space at the foot of its master bed. Being an older trailer with factory matress, we're thinking of replacing its matress this year. Being taller then average body, I'm focusing on the "normal queen" instead of an RV Queen size. re:
- 60" x 74" RV Queen (Short Queen)
- 60" x 79" Residential Queen

Is the corner shape of RV Queen different then a normal Queen size?

Anyone else do this upgrade to their RV? Any pros/cons you can share???

.

We just got a new mattress for our 5er i can tell you that the width of a standard queen works fine. We found a local mattress store (Bedzzz Express) that can custom cut a mattress to length and so we had them cut it to 74 long (I would have loved to have the full length but our bedroom slide comes all the way to the cabinet in front of it so there is no room for a longer mattress). Oh and the new mattress is GREAT!

I have a Regular Queen matress and love it. The first thing I did was throw the camper matress away and I had the pillow top camper mattress. I did not like the short mattress my toes would hang off the end when trying to sleep and I don't like curling up to sleep. I would recommend it if at all possible.

I agree Spike those RV queen beds are too short. I do not know how a tall person can sleep in one, especially when the front is facing the front wall of the trailer which slopes inward making it seem even shorter.

I am 6'2" and my feet hang off our new 74" mattress about an inch or two but i have gotten used to it. Our bed is in the bedroom slide though at least so i don't have the front slope to worry about.
