I think just being aware of it and checking on it when you do the regular roof maintenance is the right way to go about it. If it was my trailer I probably would take a hammer to it and tap it back in then give it a second harder hit. I think a rubber roof could handle that. If the staple reappeared I would make a slit and pull it out. Than patch the the cut. Just wondering if the staple punctured the roof would drive me crazy.
