Noticed a small hard bump sticking up under the rubber roof membrane

While inspecting the slide out roof on our 2010 FBS TT I noticed a small hard bump up under the roof membrane along the roof edge. It has the feel of a 1/4" staple sticking up about 1/8 of an inch. Any ideas on how to push or drive this thing down without tearing thru the membrane?

I am thinking your best bet is to probably just leave it alone right now unless it is about to break through. I think anything you try to do to get it back in will just damage the room. Other option is to put a small piece of Eternabond over it just in case it does break through the membrane.

Hate to do it but this is probably the only option and I also have a roll of Eternabond to do the repair

I wouldnt mess with it or attempt a repair unless it torn through. no need on cutting/sealing the roof material unless absolutly necessary.

Check your roof for the same defects. There will be lots of staples and pieces of small wood shaving trapped under the rubber. Jayco says this is normal and not a defect. Poor workmanship in my opinion. You would think they would at least sweep off the top surfaces before applying the rubber roof. Most manufacturers allow this to happen.

I agree with poor workmanship or laziness. I am still getting sawdust coming out of all my vents every time I use the furnace or air.

LOL we could talk about how poorly built these things are all day! My carpet on the slide is held together with over a hundred staples and most them are not in the wood. Most are just stapled into air. I had to pull all the staples out of the carpet and restaple the carpet to the wood. We complain about Chinese made items but honestly I think they could have done a better job. I have several bumps below the rubber roof. I wouldn't be surprised if there was empty McDonald wrappers and cups under there! LOL
