Observation camera thread

A few days ago I saw a thread about installing an observation camera on an aluminum skin travel trailer. I'd like to take a closer look now that I'm ordering my camera, but I can't find the thread.

Does anyone recall who that was or which thread it was in? I'm curious as to how he got a good seal on the uneven aluminum surface.

I think if you search Furrion Backup Camera most of them will come up.

Check around post #55
I am in the process of ordering one for my aluminum Jayflight.

They just fill in any gap with caulking. I think I am going to use plumbers Putty.
I use plumbers putty for most things like that. Easy to remove and change.

Best regards,
Doug

Installed on my 2018

I ordered the Furrion observation camera from Amazon was amazed how fast the install went. It's prewired and has a dummy cam box on the rear of the camper. Just remove the 4 screws that are holding the dummy box the connection wire is in there connect it up its the lone wire in back of the camera install the rubber gasket replace the screws total 3 min. plug in trailer harness to your truck plug in the monitor go to the rear camera under camera push button under camera for 2 seconds it will pair with cam and monitor. Picture will appear instantly. Installed done. Start to finish total time under 5 min.

When I bought the trailer from the dealer they made it seam like it was a huge job to install but it's so so easy to do your self.

Mine is pre-wired but it doesn't have a plate or anything like that. I will have to drill holes below the center marker light and install it, so it'll take a bit more than 5 minutes for mine, but it should be an easy install.

Yep, that's where I'm ordering mine from. Amazon Prime is just about the best money I've ever spent.
