Try Lake Thunderbird - about 15 miles east of Norman. I camped there for a week last Thanksgiving, and again for a week in April. I plan on spending a couple of days there in about 2 weeks. Hope you can find a place that meets your needs.

The RV Park at Choctaw Casino in Durant is the nicest I've ever seen.

Have you ever heard of boondocking?
I'm in Texas, but I am from Idaho, and here in Texas there just are not places to go boondocking like there were in Idaho, everything here is private property, no such thing as BLM and public lands where you can camp.

In Idaho, 90% or greater of my camping was boondocking, boy I sure miss the boondocking!

Yeah, most of the lakes close, or they say they do online and at the park gate offices. And some of the non lake state parks say the same thing! I have found several lately that stay open all year! I may just drive up to one and see what the situation is! I'm assuming they shut the water off for freezing purposes?!?
