Update on Kiwi Electrical code
After purchasing the necessary extension cord and prepared to cut off the female end and rewire it to my camper, I gave this some more thought. My dealer did not have a 'lockable' cover for the exterior access to the cord (thus it got cut off in the first place for copper). I didn't want this to happen again. Went and bought a male connector and luckily we had discovered that the cord had been stuck and there was actually about three feet of it that could be pulled out. Connected the male end and used the extension cord. Then, - it is a bit of inconvience - we disconnected the extension and pushed the remaining original cord back inside the cover flap. Now if someone tries to steal it again for the copper, when they open the cover they won't be able to reach anything.
Apparently, from what I heard this has been happening quite a bit so I'm hopeful that the manufacturers take note!
