The water valve into the tank is at the top of the tank, the flow out is at the bottom of the tank. We found the back flow valve at the water into the tank at the top.

On Demand Hot Water Heater Girard

The hot water heater in my Jayco Greyhawk 2015 took some getting used too. I have started turning on the sink hot water a bit and then the shower. As they run simultaneously the shower is constant heated water and I do add some cold for temperature control.

Would a 2 gallon expansion tank help the problem on pump pressure fluctuations

TIP: and sometimes, FLOW issues can be debris clogging, reducing flow, causing issues; (calcium buildup in spray head or regulator orifice, piece of rust from city water, algae/ sand/ dirt from a hose, etc.... or your city water HOSE FILTER is clogged/ due to replace. ALWAYS CARRY A SPARE FILTER :-)

Yes, EXPANSION TANK, even much smaller, can help pressure fluctuations.

I said 2 gallons because that's what I just installed in my toyhauler during or last trip to Oregon. Pump runs less frequently and quieter and pressure is constant. Tank and parts cost less than $40.00

I have had nothing but problems with my on demand. It isn't working and I need it replaced. What on demand would you recommend me replacing it with ?

Thanks,

Todd

Truma. Replaced the Girard that gave us nothing but trouble with a Truma and so far (knock on wood) 3 seasons no problems.

I agree. If you want to stay tankless, the Truma has the best reputation. But, last time I looked, it has to be installed by a factory/dealer auth tech. Last time I looked there were about >two< of them in the nation.

Perhaps someone with more recent Truma info can correct this.

Also, the Truma needs a bit more care n' feeding than the Girard.

After reading about the RecPro (rebranded Fogatti) I would not go with that one as it seems to shut itself down if it's cold outside or the incoming water is too cold. We winter camp and the Girard has not had those issues.

The Furrion tankless looks/reads like it's a good one.

We have the Fogatti unit and it has worked just fine.
