One the way to Christmas with the family

So we were heading for the kids house yesterday, we live near Fort Worth and the kids live in the panhandle. We had originally planned on going up to Amarillo and hunt for a few days but the little blizzard they had kind of cancelled that.

So we got up Sunday morning loaded the Eagle and headed west on I-20. The crosswind was coming pretty hard from the northwest hard enough I slowed down the F250 to keep the trailer from being buffeted by the wind so much.

We were about an hour into our trip when an Expedition fly’s past us doing at least 80 the scary part is it was towing a TT. The SUV and the trailer were all over the road whipping back and forth enough so I slowed down dramatically because when he changed lanes I thought he was going to lose it. I made a snide comment to my DW that we’d probably see him flipped over on the side later on.

In a few seconds the Expedition was gone and we continued on our way, about a half hour maybe 45 minutes we crest a small hill and I notice something off in the distance on the side of the road all I can see is from that distance it didn’t look like it should be there. As we got closer we notice it’s the race car driver in the Expedition, he had lost it. The skid marks went on forever, when he lost it the trailer ended up on the right side of the road one its side. The Expedition was turned 90 degrees and was now heading south right at the edge of the road. It looked like the SUV didn’t turn over but the tongue looked like a pretzel. There were several people already stopped and it looked like the driver was ok since he was throwing stuff at the trailer.

Yeah it takes a little longer to get there towing a TT but I’ll guarantee we got there a good bit ahead of this guy.

Take your time and be safe.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Yeah you can`t fix stupid! Unfortunately he was putting the lives of his family and others on the road in danger.

It should be good by then. Keep a close eye on the weather.

If you stay we really like Oasis RV Park a little West of Amarillo.
