Ota tv

Finally camping in a location where I am able to receive OTA TV stations. I have to say it beats any of the cable hook ups I've had prior. Crisp clear picture, many in what appears to be HD... Very impressed - wish I could get reception like this more often...

A good HD set looks great in a camper if the signal is strong.

Lots of times we get into a show and at around 8pm, poof its gone!

What I don't understand is you can almost always get a public tv station but that's all many times.

I'm high up on a mountain and pretty close to the transmitter city. I've got 19 channels to choose from and even with the torrential rain and storms picture is great. I'm getting spoiled!

We receive 25 channels when parked in our driveway, and the transmitters are 50 miles away. When there is a decent video source to begin with, picture quality is outstanding. However, audio quality in the setup that a Precept comes with is poor. One of these days we'll get around to working on that.

Last trip a couple weeks ago in NC - no internet (yeah!) and a couple channels OTA to play in the background while winding down from hiking.

Depending on location, we get anywhere from 3 to over 20 channels in our TT. We ditched our satellite TV at home and installed an OTA in our attic. We're 40-50 miles from the transmitters but receive 48 channels. Sometimes the more distance ones with a lower signal fall off due to atmospheric conditions. But the programming is great, picture quality in HD and saving $160.00/mo!

I may have to try this. My cable bill just went up to $209 / month. It's ridiculous. In using Kodi at home and getting just about all I could want. Just a bit shy of cutting the cable....

Lot'sa variable affect the quality - including what the Station is doing (subchannels, compression, 720 vs 1080, etc.).

Here in Denver, shortly after the mandated switch to Digital, our NBC affiliate was using their entire bandwidth to deliver 1080i with minimal compression.

Wow - that was a good picture!!!

One thing a lineman told me about OTA is to get above the wires and you should get good reception. Did this and yes great info.

Our cable company BrightHouse was sold to Charter/Spectrum and our cable bill went from $121 to $153. Asked WHY???? They said that was BH pricing, you now have Spectrum and that is our pricing.

So yesterday I got off the phone with a local cable company (WOW) and they have Internet (only) for $34 a month (100MBPS - un restricted). I purchased a Arris cable modem (approved model) for $80 to save $7 a month for equipment charge.

I have a TailGater from Dish and their RV package is $34 for most of the channels we watch. Here in Tampa area there are over 100 OTA digital channels, so I purchased a ELECWAVE outdoor DIGITAL antenna/amp for $34 (100mile type), now I just need to purchase a 4 input remote.

They come to connect WOW internet on July 3rd. Then I disconnect Spectrum.

Finally!!!!!!!!!
