Ouch! That Hurts!

Gasoline went up 22 cents per gallon overnight (March 2) in my neighborhood. This morning I spent $118 to fill up my F-150.

At dinner tonight, my DW asked me what would be the highest price of a gallon of gas I would pay until considering canceling some trips. I told her whatever, I’d just pay it. I suggested we look at cutting down on other expenses. She suggested my beer bill. I suggested look somewhere else.

I find it odd that a few months ago, we figured prices would drop a little. However, it seems that those that can afford to spend money, are spending money. Two friends have purchased F150s (one new, one used) in the last two months.

Companies will continue to push prices up if we continue to pay them.

I will be making a 300 mile round trip tomorrow. Not looking forward to the same number of $$$ that The Meeker just paid, but I too, own an F150 with the optional extended range fuel tank.

Commodity traders have a big influence on oil prices.

I’ve been filling mine up at 1/2 tank. Less shocking that way.

My fuel tank sensor went out today. Does that mean the tank is full or empty all the time? LOL!!

I stop at $50.00 per week in my F150. I go to wherever that amount will allow.

Our president stated he would suspend taxes on gas to help ease the hike. That never happened. I believe the senators did not like the idea.

I guess the war effort in Ukraine put a halt to that.

We just did a road trip from MN to FL 3400 miles round trip. Fuel was anywhere from 3.18 to 3.69. Cheapest was right around Kentucky. It does suck by like most it will not stop us from traveling..

Build it in to trip costs. We didn't stop when it was $4 in WI in 2008, not going to stop now. Prediction here is it will hit $4 before it comes back down again.

Our most common trip is 3 hours away, 360 miles round trip. I average 11 mpg towing. Total round trip at $2.50 gal is about $82. Total at $4.00 gal is about $128. $46 more. $5 gal gas adds another $35 for the trip. Of course this doesn't take into account driving around for the time we are there. Maybe eat out a little less on a trip? Or maybe just suck it up? Either way it doesn't stop us.

$5 would start to hurt, but I don't see that stopping us either. We are not extravagant people nor have big expenses other than a really low house payment and the payment on the truck. I wouldn't even have truck if not for the trailer. So we'll suck it up.

Down here in the Southern Calif Desert i paid $122 to fill my Ram Cummings... Every pump had the famous stickers plastered on them. These prices are defiantly going to put a hamper on our summer trip plans.

Will be leaving Alabama going to Tetons and up to Glacier. Round trip about 45 days. Not going to look at price of gas. Just going to pump it.

It wont stop us. What will is finding a replacement for our current TT. Noticed the prices were at $3.49 for unleaded. I think diesel was $3.69. I spend more stupid impulse purchases than I do on gas.

Just turned on the local news (Sacramento California). A local Chevron station posted its price for reg unleaded. $5.39 a gallon. DW and I have been a little bummed out that our travel time was going to be curtailed for the next few month’s ( I’m getting my hip replaced in a couple of weeks ). If there’s an upside to this mess our fuel budget category will grow pretty much undisturbed.

I just filled up yesterday at 3.99/gal. This morning it’s 4.39 at the same station. I’m fortunate I’m only home to drive my truck every other week. For some this is becoming more than a minor inconvenience.

$3.20ish yesterday, $3.35 today.

You're right - the beer budget is a necessity.

In my neck of the woods, unleaded is $3.89 and diesel is $4.69. 5 days ago it was $3.29 and $3.99. Whew, gonna get worse before it gets better. I wonder where the shale guys are.

I think you should tell her to give up getting her nails done till the price of gas comes down. But before you tell her just let us know what hospital you’ll be in.
