Ouestion

Good morning all,
I have a 195 RB and am thinking about getting a new Chevy Colorado is anyone towing with one, it so what TT are you towing and how well does it do, Chevy says it has a 7000 lb towing capacity and my TT only weight 2950lb.
The Colorado I have now has a 5500 lb capacity and it does OK but I woulike like a little more

LOL, We all want a little more. As for the new vs old Colorado, I would ask some detailed questions about what makes the difference?
It could be changes that don't affect the towing feel at all.
Personally I would want a little more truck.

I pull a 2015 23RB with a 2015 Colorado V6 4x4 Z71. I've pulled it around 600 miles so far. I figure my trailer loaded is probably 5300 pounds.

Colorado handles it but I've never got over 65 mph. I also am only getting about 10.5 mpg while towing the trailer, I get 24 mpg empty.

the difference from what I am told is:
1. more HP the v6 has 305 HP my inline 5 has 265
2. the towing package on the new one has locking dif, and a lower rear gear.
3. the new on is a bit wider than the old.

we went on a 300+ mile trip with my current Colorado and it was fine got 13 MPG, not to bad, and it pulled up the mts. OK just think a little more power would be helpful,

norty1, are you saying if it were you, you would get a bigger truck like a 1500 series or bigger ??

so it would appear it would handle the 3500 lbs my weighs loaded easily
THANKS

Taking my wife on her first camping trip tomorrow.

I fully expect to be ordered to start shopping for bigger trailer by Friday.

Don't know if I can push the colorado much farther as to weight.

I know I wouldn't tow anything bigger with mine,

why do you think she will want a bigger TT, ours is smaller than yours and we both love it, just wish it had a bigger black water tank

That's good to hear, my 3000lb RB 195 should be a walk in the park for the new truck

IMHO, the new Colorado will handle what you have without much issue. Though I agree with Norty. Personally, I would rather have a little more truck, like the 1500/150 series. The advantage is that you will have expansion opportunities. If you decide to upgrade your TT to something in the 24foot range, a 1500/150 will still work great. Just my two cents.
