I realize I am late to the party here, but wanted to add my solution for the Coleman Roadtrip Grill:

This is correct. You will need to remove the Coleman proprietary connector that screws into the grill and use connectors to fit it to a quick connect coupling.
I wound up finding the connectors at Ace Hardware, and the quick connectors and extension cable at Camping World - and it works like a champ! I used yellow gas tape on the threads and silicone sealing tape just to ensure no leaks out of an abundance of caution.
