Painting Inside

Going to paint my two big living and kitchen slide walls. A brighter color will lighten it up some. Slide walls are darker than the others. Have the best Home Depot paint with primer. For those who have painted what prep did you do and any problems? Was just going to wipe down walls with alcohol to remove any residue.

My experience you need to do a very good job washing all the surfaces. From what I can tell, Jayco uses some type of silicone treatment on the wood trim, and stuff does not like to stick to the wood surfaces. Not sure about the vinyl wall paper. When we painted the walls in my parent's TT. We first gave it a good wash, then primed with Kills, than painted. It turned out nicely. I would not take any short cuts, as pealing paint on vinyl wallpaper would be a pain to correct.

Not doing any wood trim. Going to do kitchen slide first since it has just half of it wallpapered. From stove over is backsplash and than big Norcold.

tri-sodium phosphate wash, rinse and allow a good drying. wear gloves.

X 2 TSP is your friend

Ok guys I just found a TSP liquid that wipes on and wipes off, no rinse required. This looks like the one to use on inside Rv walls. It would make a mess trying to rinse off the other kind in an Rv. Especially a slide with carpet.
