Pass thru storage area

So what is good to use on the pass thru floor to protect it. Small outdoor mats or rugs move all over the place

I have put nothing on my floor, and there are no scratches or anything. I do have it packed so things should not slide around.

But I do drag a lot of things across the floor when I am pulling then in and out.

We have just the one pass through in the front, and put a couple of those tutti-fruiti colored rag rugs down so the stuff doesn't slide around when we're towing. However, things don't slide out very easily, either. I guess I can't have it both ways.

I purchased a roll of 'foam floor matting' and cut to fit. The material is rugged and nothing slides around. I didn't glue or staple it ..., easier to clean the area just by removing the matting. Get at any big box store.

In our passthrough storage I use the large rubbermaid type storage containers. I push one to the back and put another in front of it. To pull them out I have ropes tied to the handle. That way I can pull the back container out to rach after the first one is on the ground. The container may slide around some, but everything is contained.
