Anyone a member? Worth the money or no?

All comments welcome, good or bad.

Thank you.

I got a one year free membership with the purchase of my trailer earlier this month. It looks interesting, but there are black out dates, and of course the discount never applies on a holiday. I have not booked anything with their services yet, but, for my neck of the woods, I am not sure how much this will benefit me. I hope this helps.

I have been a member for over 10 years. In my case one trip to Florida for a 5 day stay more than pays for the membership.

Be aware most of the participating campgrounds are 2 or 3 star. Very few 4 star. Just pay attention to the restrictions for each campground. They can vary for each one.

Is it worth it? In a word...Yes.

Bought a membership a week ago because it looked like it would be worth it. BUT, won't know for sure until later this year.

Some of the best money that you'll spend. I have been a member for many years. They have a great online app that works well. Use it for two nights a year and your premium is paid. We rarely use for destination stays. Almost always on the way to our destination.

Each campground has "notes" which are exceptions and restrictions. Again I say use the mobile app. It takes using it awhile to really appreciate it. If you are looking for high end amenities then you probably won't like it. If you are looking for the basics and like half price, you'll love it.

Had it a couple times hoping that PPA had talked to the vendors about limiting restrictions. It seems (especially during the winter) that every time I wanted to go to one of the campsites listed, that it was not available during that time. And if there was one "sorry, we're all filled up". It gets kinda old real quick.

That's where the app comes in. As we travel, I get the wife to look ahead to the general area that we are expecting to stop for the evening. We stop at the campground that fits our situation. Calling ahead normally to make sure that they have room. If you do a little homework on the road, there is generally PPA that we can use at half price. East of the Mississippi are generally a lot more PPA campgrounds then in the West. For us, it's a no brainier!

We have also been long time members. It is great if you use it and just a couple of stays a year can pay for it. As others have stated individual CG's have different restrictions that you'll have to meet. We use it for overnights when traveling mainly.
