Pennsylvania

Hi All,

So my daughter and family will possibly be relocating to PA somewhere on the outskirts of Philly. If they do this I will follow, I want to be close to them and my grandson.
I live in my RV.

Is anybody familiar with any campgrounds that I can stay in year round on the outskirts of Philly? I'm not seeing very many on camping apps.
Are there any other options? Apartments are too expensive for me.

TIA!!

you may be better off across the line into NJ. Take a look around or east of Cherry Hill. I used to work out of Blue Bell/Plymouth Meeting and I found Phil area to be the worst on the east coast for a variety of reasons. If you must be in PA, consider as far west of Philly as you can get, like Lancaster or Reading even. Good Luck

Somewhere on the outskirts of Philly leaves a lot of room! Could be east (NJ), west, it's a pretty big area. Once you have a fix on where your family will be, a targeted search would probably provide better results.
What's your tolerance for driving to see them or vice versa? Philly traffic can be really tough, especially driving into the city from anywhere in the 'burbs.
I lived in Center City for a number of years. It's a great city, very walkable to the Arts district, South Philly and the Italian market, the "1776" historic areas and many other points of interest. I never felt threatened, even walking at night with a few friends. My personal experience has been great in Philly. Great sports town, active arts scene, a real foodie destination and neighborhood pubs and bars that are second to none.
That said, there are areas where you don't want to go even in the daylight. Like most American Cities, there are crime ridden pockets that are just dangerous. Stay out.
I currently live part of the year near Reading and travel out of PHL a good bit. Getting to and from the airport is a hassle. I can count on at least 1 1/2 hours each way on average. Just a part of choosing to live here.
Good luck with your search!

I don't have an answer, but I would be more worried about "year round". Many places are seasonal, at least in central PA.

Agreed on "outskirts of Philly" being a big area: it's basically Philadelphia and the five surrounding counties. You do not want to have to cross Philly itself if you can avoid it, and the southern counties are more likely to be more populated and more expensive than the northern and western counties.

I lived in Upper Bucks County for awhile and enjoyed it, but I had a home there and did not have an RV.

Thanks everybody....mostly interested in the western slightly north area, east of Lancaster.
Maybe king of Prussia, Hatfield, etc area.
