Percentage off MSRP.

After reading the sticky above which is a few years old and closed for comment. What is a reasonable percentage off the MSRP for a new purchase.? 2016/2017

Not sure on late models, but I've always gotten 30-37% off msrp on towables, and 25% on Motorhomes. Have owned 6 6 towables and 2 Motorhomes since 2003.

We did do a good amount of research on what we were looking for however I'm starting to feel we should have better in the sales area. I hate to post this but I'm at 21% under MSRP. Ugg

Edit:
Ok at the end of the day the difference between 21% and a median 25% is only twelve hundred dollars. I'm not gonna sweat it. Guess they saw me coming.

Edit again:
Oh crap. The numbers go way down when I deduct freight and prep in attempt to get an accurate MSRP. Oye I'm showing my naivety

Live and learn. A good deal is when you are happy and the dealer is happy. Just enjoy the rig. On the next one, you'll be experienced and have the upper hand. I just got lucky on the first one and based all future negotiations on that.

Thanks John. Appreciate it. I'm more disappointed in myself than the salesman. I suppose he was better at looking out for himself than I was. So be it. Time to move forward. I take delivery in the next day or two. I will do my best not to think about the 18%

30% off MSRP out the door, is a sweet deal compared to 30% off MSRP before they tack on all the extra fees and taxes.

I'll take 30% off MSRP OTD any day.

Other factor is model year. You can do really well on 2016's this time of year obviously.

We got 30%+ at a local dealer on our Redhawk. Depending on the model year and time of year 30-40% is "normal".

We got ours at 30% off. Markup for RV dealers is pretty big... I've heard as much as 50% but that seems a bit far fetched. I believe towable markup for the dealers averages about 35%.
