Pilot light safety

Do folks usually leave a window open and fan running when only the oven pilot light is lit?

We do not leave the pilot light lit all the time. Only to start the oven burner. No window or fan needed.

Once a year I use a small fine wire brush to clean the buildup on the pilot light sensor. Helps a lot.

We don’t use the pilot unless preparing to use it.

We too never leave the pilot lite for the oven on. Might be a different story if we were full timing. Even then it is just like having a candle burning. Your CO2/gas detector should give you a warning if there is an issue.
