Poor 26BH build or damage?

Just found this on YouTube. I'm not sure if the guy bought a lemon or someone used and abused that TT. Hope the guy got all of these issues resolved. He did mention that a Jayco dealer that he did not buy from turned him away....sure wish he would have mentioned the dealer's name. This is not how my 26BH was delivered.

Wonder why the owner did not contact the selling dealer ? Did he buy from an individual ? No PDI ? Many questions that need to be answered befor a judgement can be made.

Look's like water damage near the refrigerator to me (and probably at the roof seam) from the roof. And water damaged counter tops due to poor sealing by Jayco or lots of splashed water by the owner.

I saw fit and finish issues that looked very familiar to me. I continue to believe that Jayco's quality control should be improved. And one way for that to happen is for more new owners to post videos showing the type of sloppiness that Jayco produces.

I know that in the RV industry dealers do not have to service units that they did not sell. However, I think this is wrong headed (it is not helpful to Jayco in selling product) and could be handled by Jayco changing their contract with the dealers.

In terms of design and engineering, including basic structural frame design and manufacturing, I am pleased with my Jayco. Plus, with Eternabond I've got it well sealed against leaks. We are keeping it; its design and size fits us well.

But Jayco should do better.

Not sure, Lolead....maybe he saved some money by traveling out of state to buy the TT.

He has a second video up of the same trailer a few months after his initial video. The later shows one of the dinette seat backs that separated from the wall and bench. He also had the wall behind the sofa separate as well as some other issues. This is supposed to be a 2015 TT...crappy build to me if those walls came down.

Thankfully mine was not built that way. But that was 2009 when times were slow. From what I understand between the improving economy and low gas prices RV demand is way up and QC could be suffering as a result. That`s no excuse but it is likely one cause of reports like this.

I always liked the layout of the 26BH... Looked like a neat trailer in its day to own...

When I was sort of interested in getting hard sides I looked at this model along with the X254 and really liked the X213

i had the same issue with mine with the seats, its a design flaw, what happens is that the seat cushion is on it and whne people sit down the sit on the door and bend that latch and the hinges

other then that my 2014 was pretty good, but i also had a good dealer to deal with i feel bad for the guy good way to sour him on buying future jaycos

I hope he did not give up just because that dealer turned him away. Lots more questions here than answers...hmmmm

I would have called Jayco long before this. I am sure Jayco would be more that happy to help him out.

Like it or not, this is where a relationship with a local dealer pays dividends.

Not sure why he doesn't take this back to the selling dealer -- except maybe it's 1000+ miles away and not practical. I have seen lots of fit and finish issues on Jayco and other Manufactures too. It does seem Jayco and the selling dealer are usually willing and able to step up and make things right. There is more to this guys story that we aren't hearing.
