Popping Suspension
This started recently. In the video the camper is on concrete and travels about 10’. Hoping it is just the bushings but not sure.
Ok. Video did not load. It is 1,7mb taken with an iPhone. It shows up when adding a video. What am I missing?
Thanks

I would start by upgrading to the wet bolt and heavy duty bushings. You’d be surprised how quickly those plastic bushings wear out

Bought our 2017 Eagle 321rsts 5th last August. I did the morryde wet bolts over the winter. I was surprised how much the original equipment nylon bushing had worn. Yeh new trailer with total of less than 30 hours road time on it from factory. The nylon ones just can't take the rough roads we all have these days

I upgraded my 2017 28.5 RSTS to a MorRyde wet bolt kit. I had 2 bushings worn through where it was metal on metal when I swapped it out. Once I got it all installed and greased and took a few trips there's no more squeaks. Highly recommend....

Lots. Metal bolt wearing and slopping around in a metal eye = big trouble if she shears away and bores enough to cause spring disengagement. If this happens at speed, you and others could be toast. That is why it so egregious that RV manufacturers and parts fabricators produce and sell us this junk. Pull the total garbage and install a set of MORryde wet bolts or do the whole kit with the MORryde "equalizer." I did the wet bolts myself. The MORryde is made right, a vastly superior product to the crap that Jayco purchases/utilizes and LCI/Lippert contracts in Chinese factories.

If you do some searching on this forums under shackles and or wet bolts you will find a wealth of knowledge. Along with pictures of elongated shackles and failures of suspension. The MorRyde shackles are twice the thickness of the manufacturers shackles. That with a greaseable fitting = winning.

Installed new whey bolts yesterday . Old ones shot on 2 yr old 26.5rls. Took longer to Jack up than to do job. Cut 6x6 wood in 1ft blocks to block under frame .dude 2 6 ton jacks under axles took about 3 hr. New shackles twice as thick .good luck with yours .

If you need to get somewhere then go ahead and tow. While the plastic bushings may be worn out unless you have a ton of miles on the trailer the shackle plates won't be toast. I changed mine with maybe 14,000mi and the holes were elongated but not near to breaking.
Put the video on YouTube and post the link

Actually, the “popping” sound is the bolt shifting in the nylon bushing. It means that a few of the nylon bushings are still intact. No problem with towing a few hundred miles.

This is my first attempt to upload video link. My next trip is to the dealer in about a month. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Wondering if anyone knows if the 2018 NPs came with wet bolt or nylon? Can't recall if that was part of the morryde upgraded suspension that year.

There will be grease nipples on the head of the bolts if it's a wet system.

Is there a way to check the wear of the bushings without pulling everything apart?

No, assume they are bad. Mine were bad with 5k miles. My previous we're bad about the same mileage.

Nope, seems they dont last long though. Squeaking means metal on metal so thats a good clue while towing if there intact or not. When you pull them out there not very thick at all. Kinda a really poorly designed item.

My nylon bushings were all but destroyed after about 2,000 towing miles...

The nylon is cheap and Jayco accountants probably determined that 90% of people won't notice there's an issue until warranty is over. Family member with an old Titanium just broke a shackle in the spring. He likely never checked them and he's had the fiver for maybe 10 yrs.

Not to mention it's a wear item, so doubt it's covered under warranty. Why would you want the same crap if they did cover it??

Further more Jayco played the good cop bad cop routine until my warranty expired. Never repairing nylon bushings under warranty!Always declaring bushing manufacturer was responsible not them.We got 98% of warranty completed never the bushings.2 year warranty buyers be ware!
