This is something I need to do as well... When camping off the power grid this is about the only reason we have to go into some store somewhere and get ICE. Of course that is when we get our meats and other goodie things to last us for a couple of days too...

Would be nice to have your own ice source however... Mine would have to run from my Inverter and be low power input.

After last season with all the heat I am tired of going up the camp stores or out for ice. Between the cost and thaw factor it's been top on my list for mods next summer. My top choice to date is this model since it can produce up to 50# per day which is almost double the other smaller ones. They all seem to be made in one or two factories based on images, configurations and specs. I am going to wait until spring for it but will be watching for any deals.

Newair AI-215SS

It's pricey, but so is campground ice and fuel running back a forth at $10.00 a day avg. It's pathetic how much you get in those little bags.

I am leaning towards a model with a drawer so I can put it under a counter (although that may be a bad idea too)
