Power Awning Wires UV exposure

Something to look for--

Doing some exterior maintenance and noticed both sets of the power supply wires to my power awnings were degrading, turning from red to yellow. They are exposed at the top of the mount and evidently not UV protected. It's a 2020 unit and already sun bleached! I covered both with black tape.

Smart! I'd have to guess most small interior wiring is not UV protected.
