Predator Inverters

Got the green light to buy one. Now which one to buy 2000w or the 3500w
I really wont use it much, I can only go camping once a month but I would use
the inverter more if needed at home. It would be nice to have the power, but is the $300 worth it to go bigger? my camper is the 212 QBW

What size battery(s) do you have on the TT? (Battery mfr? Model? Ah rating? What do you plan on running off the inverter?

I bought the 3500w Predator Inverter Generator and I'm glad I did. I've only had it a few weeks and I'm breaking it in slowly by "backyard" camping. LOL. On a serious note, my 13.5K AC is using about 1580 watts at 14.2 amps (going off memory, don't quote me on those values) so I don't think that I would do that with a 2K watt gen. It's nice to have the power when needed. The down side is the 100 lbs weight of the unit. It is on wheels and rolls nicely, but not knowing your physical capabilities, it could be an issue for you. The plus side is the price and the noise level.

When you say quiet, how quiet is quiet. Quiet as to use in a state park campground on a busy weekend without complaints from neighbors or shut it off at night. I waited to long to book a site with electric for labor day.

Can't remember off hand what deep cell battery I have its OEM. I think i'm going with the 3500 watt.

The Onan 4000's are supposedly Campground Ranger approved (64db if I recall) and the Predators make less noise that the Onan.

Unless my memory is faulty, the 3500 Predator runs at 57db. It's pretty quiet.

I just bought one a few weeks ago when a widespread power failure hit a campground and surrounding area. Amazing quality for the price. Extremely quiet and runs my 13.5 AC without issue. . Only negative is the 100 pound weight. I have serious lingering back and hip issues after a work related accident so lifting it into my truck was problematic. I found this device that works like a charm that makes getting it on or off my truck a non issue. Highly recommend it to anyone who needs to lift heavy items on or off a pick up truck.

I have mine running my 15k AC out in the street as we prep and pack. Draw seems to be around 1550w if I read the display right.

I wouldn't get anything less than 3000 watts if you have roof air. Back when I had my SLX with the wall unit, the A/C worked great on my little Champion 1600/2000 watt set. While a 2000 watt will run the 13,500btu roof A/C units, you'll probably need to install a hard start capacitor to get it to actually work, but then you'll have no wattage left to turn anything else on.

My "new" 19RD has the upgraded 15,000btu unit and that instantly trips the 2000 watt generator breaker on startup, so I'm going to get a 3000 inverter now.

By the way, I'm not sure if this is a national event, but our harbor freight is having a parking lot sale this weekend, frequently people buy and return the generators with little use so you can get a great deal today on one.

purchased one at Harbor Freight a few weeks ago runs my a/c which my 4000 watt champion dies when I turn the a/c on.

Mine also runs the 13.5K AC and starts it while the gen is in eco-mode. No issues at all yet.

Pulled trigger bought the 3500 watt so far so good. Ran it for 2hrs, before load, plugged TT in everything worked just fine, didn't try both A/C and micro at same time, i'll try that after my 25 hr break-in time.
