Priceless pic

I was lookin through some pictures on my phone when I ran across this one. This fine specimen of a camper was a few lots down from us at Darlington Raceway a few years ago.
I wanted to wait until a few more campers showed up before I went for a closer look. That never happened, by the time the campground starting filling up it was gone.
The things you can see at a race campground are priceless. I know I got a kick out of it

Wow thanks for sharing the pic! I think I'd be a bit leary if I were traveling and came up behind this going down the road. Wonder how old those tie down straps are?!!!

I thought the straps were classic. I wish it wouldn't have disappeared I would have liked to get a closer look at it. Didn't see the license plate either so I don't know how far they drug it.

2 comments: Why tow it backward?, Watch that first step!

You see many strange things at Darlington.

It was there that I first saw someone eating Pizza for breakfast with a beer!

I worked overnights for over 25 years - I've eaten some very strange "Breakfasts" during that time for sure...

Sight-seeing our way to Texas. Stopped in Kansas right before the NASCAR race there. Only space available and found this beauty.

Probably because it was easier to back it on the trailer and then take the wheels off.

I don't recall seeing ambulances so I take it they survived the weekend with nobody breaking any bones getting out in the middle of the night

This is a camper setup a friend had when they lived in Germany and traveled around Europe. Both open and stowed

That reminds me of the guy down the street. Has a 10 foot enclosed utility trailer, added a 2nd axle, made the inside into a camper, no windows, bed, and someplace to cook. Not for me but ok for them.

These have become quite popular in the last two or three years. We saw quite a few over this last season including this one on a Honda Element at the Oregon coast - apparently the "deluxe" model that included the telescoping ladder... I snapped the pic as I had an Element for quite a few years until it went off to college with the youngest daughter. It was a great rig to go tent-camping in.

I think the first time I saw one was 3 or 4 years ago when one of our vendors set one up in the office parking lot to demonstrate. I remember thinking OK, that's interesting. Now it seems to be a thing. I looked on our web site this morning and I see we carry like 10 different models ranging from $350-$2350 so clearly there is some demand.

^^ +1 this ^^
So many strange things in the photo, but I had that exact same thought. Maybe it's so the garbage man doesn't accidentally haul it away?
