Propane

If the president bans propane what will the RV industry do to replace it?

I'd be more concerned about what rural America will do to stay warm in the northern states in the winter. At least with RVs, it's relatively inexpensive to go solar energy as compared to doing that for a residence. And since your question doesn't state that gasoline would potentially be banned, you could grab a generator for those air conditioning days. Of course, a dual fuel generator would be out of the question in your scenario since propane would be unavailable.

Have any news articles you can post. I have not seen anything on the subject. Closest thing I have seen is NYC, banning propane patio heater at restaurants this winter.

Explain how that works. How does "the president" go about banning propane?

Most of what I have read has been about localities banning natural gas for new residential housing units. "The use of natural gas in buildings creates about 10% of California's greenhouse gas emissions." Can't say propane isn't in their sights eventually, probably that can will be kicked down the road for awhile.
Electricity can do everything.

It will never go away nationally anymore than cows, petroleum, plastic bags or oil will go away. Coal to a point maybe.
Now the cost of all mentioned above is another story in that how much will we be able to afford.

Electricity can do everything.

They keep pushing for more and more electric use, but they already require rolling blackouts to handle the loads. Seems smart.

But wait, there's more: the infamous "they" also want to ban hydroelectric generation (to the point of actually removing dams), ban the siting of new wind and solar generation farms (even though they are screaming we need more), ban the installation of new electric transmission lines and they become hysterical if you even mention nuclear power generation.
It seems like the children are now running this country/world.....

Boy, talk about coming in from left field. Where do you get your news? I haven't seen anything indicating that the President or any other federal governing body is trying to eliminate the use of propane. As mentioned in other posts, some sources would be appreciated if they exist.

It's been all over the news lately. This administration intends to reduce methane gas by an insanely amount. Google 'Biden to reduce Methane Gas'

here ia an ABC Story

From what I'm seeing, the propane bans are more of a "local" thing. Restaurants/businesses that are using the 20 pound propane tanks to run their portable deck heaters and fire pits/fire tables. seem to be the target.
It wouldn't surprise me to see propane usage targeted more heavily in the future.

The natural gas ban is much larger in scope.

"Propane is one of the lightest, simplest hydrocarbons in existence, and, as a result, is one of the cleanest burning of all fossil fuels."

https://www.amerigas.com/amerigas-bl...n-green-energy

Natural gas is very clean burning as well, imo we should use more of both instead of less clean fuels.

Methane is not propane. A huge amount of methane comes out of cattle butts. Also from garbage/trash dump sites.

I guess beef and dairy and trash will all be banned too...

LOL

Actually, natural gas is primarily methane but contains ethane, propane, carbon dioxide, and water vapor as well. If you want my opinion. this whole fiasco is nothing but a movement to push the Green New Deal - Solar and Battery Power. Too bad there is not an unlimited abundance of Lithium in this world, and mining it has proven to be more harmful to our precious earth than the effects it produces in battery power. But i guess if you are investing heavy in Solar, it's o.k.

Humm, there might be a reason he wants to get rid of methane.
