If there’s a propane leak I’d expect you could smell it. If it was CO I’d suspect the furnace (was it running?). My smoke detector went off the first time I fired up the furnace in both TT’s we’ve owned but they were new and I note yours is a 17.

Since it stopped when you shut the propane off I’d suggest turning them (it) back on and see if the alarm goes off again. If it does then strong evidence of a leak.

BTW, welcome to the JOF! Keep in touch.

Also check your battery in the RV some detectors will go off when the battery voltage gets low.

How long after you shut the furnace off did the alarm go off? Is it a steady sound or does it chirp, like a smoke alarm with a low battery? If steady, check for propane leaks. Check that all burners on stove and oven are off. Does your stove have a standing pilot burner? If your furnace had not been fired before (did you notice any oily smell?) light it and leave your door and windows open while its burning for an hour or so. Turn your t'stat to the highest heat it will go. Hope this helps

The valve to shut off the propane is on top of the propane tank. Each tank will have one.

One more thing to consider, the CO2/Gas detector does not look for only propane gas. Do you have a dog? A few people have had issues, had had a dog's bed near the gas/CO2 detector. If s/he has a bit of gas and discharges it near the sensor it will trip the gas alarm. Also where is your trash can located?

A few years back there was a rash of bad sensors that had to be replaced (no recall) due to frequent alarms.

In my old pop-up the propane alarm went off every so often. I tracked it down to the dog sleeping under the table where the sensor was. Whenever he stretched, he pushed against the test button with his foot.

My 2KW Honda generator will trip my CO alarm if the exhaust is pointed towards the trailer. My Honda generator sits on my dropped tailgate of my F150 Truck...

The low battery noise is a chirp here but the alarm is a steady continuous noise... I knew one guy had two CO alarms installed and didn't worry about anything unless both of them was sounding an alarm haha...

I also have a smoke alarm in the ceiling of my other trailer which was always going off especially when we were cooking on the trailer stove... I finally pulled the batteries on that one...
