Propane Campfire

Does anybody use these propane fires? How do you like it and what brand? In BC we get campfire bans in the summer and the propane ones have been allowed. I have been asking on a couple of other forums as well. We are thinking of getting one, there are three that are easy to find.
The first one is the cheapest at $109 usd from Camping World.

The second is made in BC and uses lava rock instead of fake logs. $185

The third is the most expensive and seems to be the best one of the bunch. Campfire in a Can, $239

Well we got the Campifire-in-a-can unit. It seemed to be the best of the bunch. No lava rock or Vermiculite, single log set not individual logs and all packs up in an individual unit. It is a Christmas present for my Dad so we will see how it works before we buy one for ourselves. I would expect we will buy the same one later on this year for ourselves. I hope to see it in action after Christmas at my Dad's house. He has his fifth wheel set-up on a seasonal basis at Canim Lake in BC.

We have the Little Red Campfire purchased for $100 (caught an awesome "special" 2 years ago!). It does well and we only use it typically when our grandkids are with us. Personally, I prefer a wood fire, but with long distance travel that we do, taking wood isn't always feasable. So, if we do decide to have a fire w/out the kids, we have this little campfire which works fine for us

We also prefer wood, but when we get the fire bans we can still have a fire with this thing. Also my wife and I like to go down to Washington camping (cheap beer) and taking wood is tough as it must have no bark and buying it is expensive so these will work out well for us as well.

I am in Arizona for the winter and see a lot of propane campfires. Fire wood is scarce here. A friend has a circular one with the rocks and it is really nice.
