Propane Leak

I got home from camping a few days ago. Smelled propane near the regulator. First thought was regulator was bad. Changed to new one last year because old one failed. Got soapy water and found one pigtail hose coming out of the regulator leaking at the crimp. Ordered two replacements. These hoses were so stiff, I guess it dried out in the crimp. This is 2018 29RLDS. You would think the hose would last longer. Chinese junk. Keep an eye on these things. Also last year I cut a small window in front of the regulator and put plexi glass over the hole. I can see the tank indicator without taking the cover off

The tag on our 2012 said they were Marshall's if I remember, but I did swap them out a few years ago, just because. I've seen some that the outer layer was cracked and crumbling, and wondered why they weren't leaking through.

Most of the regulators in RVs are junk from the factory. I think I replaced every one of them and most of the connecting lines also.

I have a 2017 291rsts, my pigtails began leaking at the crimps in 2019. Replaced them and no problems since.

My replacement regulator for the recalled one went bad and started leaking. It was new, only a few months old. Call the company that made it and they replaced it for free.

+1 One of my 2018 26RLDS hoses was leaking in 2020. It was clearly a lowest bidder part. It was still under warranty, but I replaced both of the hoses myself. Didn't want to put up with stealership crappy service for a couple of hoses.
