Propane not working

After I got my battery hooked up correctly (thank you to those who set me straight!) I got two new propane tanks, hooked them up, turned on one of the tanks, turned the knob for the correct tank then checked my stove to be sure it worked. Nothing. No flame. I thought maybe the spark/starter wasn't working so I tried the old fashioned way using a lighter, and no gas was coming out of the burners. The refrigerator gas light was blinking but then it stopped (I have the electric hooked up to the house to start cooling the fridge and freezer). My son climbed under the trailer to check the line and he didn't see anything unusual. Any idea why I am not getting gas into my stove? Again, I have a 2011 Jayco Feather Select 23J. I'm leaving for the beach on Monday, so at least I have two more days to rectify this. Thank you for any help you can give!

On my trailer after sitting over winter with no propane it can take a long time to get the air out of the lines enough to light. I can actually smell propane before it lights. I know it is flowing because the air makes my lighter flame dance.

So, did you turn on the burners to get the air out then light it? I'm afraid it'll blow up in my face.

Two things to consider. All new portable propane tanks have a high flow preventer built into the tank valve. If you open the tank valve too quickly it will shut the flow off.
So just crack open valve slowly.
You may want to shut tank off then reopen slowly. Then be patient at stove.
Since fridge is on I would switch it to ac until you get gas at the stove.
Now just use the Ignitor and open one burner. Click it about once every 3-5 seconds. It should light.
Once lite... Light the other 2 burners make sure they are working.
Now switch fridge back on gas. I cycle the furnace too. Fewer unknowns at the campground. Switch fridge to auto when done.

So you have a switching valve from one tank to the other?

Mine have the sparkers. But on a start up from sitting for a long time I use a long lighter. Just run the lighter with the burner on until it lights. I know there is pressure in the line because it pushes the flame around.
