Propane pigtail connectors

Hey guys I need some more help again LOL. One of my pigtail propane hoses was leaking I could hear it hissing. So I bought a mr. Heater pigtail 1/4 Acme nut and it's too small. What size do I need? I have a 2015 23 foot Jayco Jay Flight with 2 big propane tanks.

This should be what you need. It will go from your tank to the regulator.

That's what I bought. The 1/4 inverted male is too small. I don't see these come in any other sizes though. Maybe I need a new thing that goes in between I'm not sure what it's called? Has a Gage and switches from empty tank full tank?

If your regulator doesn't have a seat inside for the inverted flare fitting, you can get brass adapters at an auto parts store that converts your inverted seat (female) to a 1/4 pipe (male), then you can use the hoses you bought. An inverted fitting has straight threads, and a pipe thread is tapered. Perhaps take the regulator and hoses with you to the store.

Ok thanks alot. I was wondering if they had something like that. Do I need to put plumbing tape on the threads?

You can use Teflon tape just be sure and get gas rated tape. It's yellow in color. You can also use pipe dope rated for gas. Do not use either on flare fittings / connections.

Is this what I need? What is check valve purpose? Do I need a check valve? Rather not spend the extra since I'm sure I'll have to replace the regulator eventually and then these will have no purpose..
