Propane regulator?
I've been having a little bit of a mission with my propane system. First had a leaky hose so I ordered a new one. Apparently it doesn't fit my regulator so I had to order an adapter. Installed the new hose with the adapter. I made super soapy water to test the connections and realize the other side was leaking from the connection between the regulator and the hose. So I thought I needed to put fresh yellow Teflon tape on that side. Removed the hose and a little black ball fell out and threads. I'm assuming it fell out of the Regulator. Can I shove it back in there somehow or do I need to buy a new regulator. Help!
If I need a new Regulator which one does everyone recommend?

What else did fall out? perhaps a little spring? Find a diagram of your particular regulator.
There are many makes and models used in the RV industry. Think about "Safety"

What regulator does everyone reccomend? Right now I have the cavagna. Should I get the same or camco?
And is it safe to use the other tank and pigtail if one side of Regulator is damaged?

There are several good ones available. It seems the Marshall Excelsior MEGR-253 was the one that came on all our RVs. I can't comment on any of the others, since this one seems to like us.

Amazed. I posted about the same issue a few months ago. Never got an answer that was complete. My guess is that it is a "check valve" that stops the flow of propane, but no one could tell me which way to install it. There are two parts you don't show, a spring and a sleeve around the spring. I decided I didn't want to risk anything and bought a new regulator.

I ordered a new Regulator too. Ended up getting the Marsh Excel. The one on here was a Cavagna. Curiousnif you had the same one?Dont want to mess around with leaky propane. I will install tomorow. Any tips? Lol I got the yellow tape for the 3/8 threads. I know the pigtails inverted Flare dont need tape

The Marshall on ours has brass inverted flare fittings on it for the tank pigtails, so it didn't disgorge parts when I replaced the original hoses. I'm not sure what's behind the fittings, but if it does give up the ghost some day, I'll be sure to carefully disassemble it to see what goes where after I replace it.

Regulator
Our last outing I kept smelling propane coming from somewhere. Checked all connections with soapy water, found no leaks at connections. Long story short, the regulator was constantly purging out that little hole in the bottom that you cant see. New regulator, problem solved.
