Propane tank mount

Anyone had issue with the way they mount the propane tank on the SLX7 models? I have a new one just bought in June and they tell me their normal mount is to put 2 bolts in the bottom if the tank into the L brackets below it.
I called the dealer and that is what I got back as an answer. They are going to looking into what they can do. Just thought I would ask the group. Any suggestions? i can fix the problem but I'm waiting to see what they will do.

I hated those two bolts. Almost need to be an acrobat hanging upside down and skinned knuckles to get the bolts off to check and/or have it filled.
I replaced the two bolts with small safety clips. After using them for a couple of seasons I bought a gas fire ring. I bought a tray that holds 2 tanks with a spin down collar to hold them in place. I installed the Flame King tray with 2 u-bolts to hold it in place and no longer have to fiddle with those terrible bolt holes in the bottom.

You can put a single tank on the rack and store something else there or have the spot if you decide to carry a spare tank in the future.

Propane tank mount

I have it strapped down now with a cargo strap so I can refill when needed but this will change when I hear from the dealer.
Thanks again

I got so pissed at refilling the single 30 lb bottle I converted it to two 20 lb tanks. It is so much easier to change now plus 20 lb bottle are much lighter.

Lots of options for you to get a real mount and not that lame-o bolt.

My post is #35.

I wanted a second bottle to use for a fire ring.

Bought a Flame King bottle rack. It has slots in the bottom for mounting. Used the slots with square U shaped bolts to secure it to the frame with no drilling as pictured below. Left one tank off so you can see clearly how I did it. Moved battery inside when I changed to lithium. Now room there for more stuff!

The bracket and the regulatory were cheap. The cost was the two 20 lb bottles. We had a 30 lb bottle and replaced it with two 20 lb bottles. Weight is important and the 20lb bottles are much better to carry.
