Proud to be an AMERICAN

Just because it's a new weekend doesn't mean those soldiers left their post or the widow got her war hero back. Every day is memorial day in America. And if my posts get redundant then call me a patriot. Please, please, please call me a patriot. I still get a lump in my throat every time I hear our national anthem. A very proud lump. Have a great weekend.

AMEN TO THAT!!! I am in the Air Force and live by the base. Everyday at 5 PM, they play the national anthem. If the wind is right, my kids will here it when playing outside. They immediately stop playing and stand and face the music. They will remain quite until the music stops, and then continue to play. The neighbors didn't quite understand at first, but after I told them why, some of them do it too. Prayers and thoughts to all who are in harms way (by choice)!

Proud Canadians here too!

I do have a question for you Americans. Why don't you sing your Anthem more?? You watch any Major Sporting event, and all the other Countries in the world the fans (players as well) sing their Anthem. Tonight, watch the NHL final and you'll even see the Anthem singer stop halfway through the Canadian Anthem and the whole crowd will keep on singing it, 18-19000 stromg. Chokes me up everytime I hear it. Just curious why you don't sing

As for all the Guys and Gals in uniform (all Coalitiom Forces), they are all doing a wonderful job!!

Don has his phone set to go off at 7pm every night. We stop what we are doing and say a prayer for our leaders to make hard decisions to help further peace etc.... troops and their friends/family.... and for all who have served our country in the military.

I posted this elsewhere a while back, but it's a great song by a Canadian singer named Terry Kelly.
