Pump Noise

We have a 2023 Jayco 377RLBH. We do not have the water pump turned on but every 10 minutes or so there’s a loud noise that sounds like a water pump. It lasts for about 30 secs. Any idea what it could be?

Check the switch in the utility bay. It may have been turned on accidentally.

None of the switches are turned on and when I do turn on the water pump I can hear it kick on and it’s not nearly as loud as the random noise we keep hearing. Is there some other type of pump it could be? When the noise stops I can here a faint “hissing” sound kind of like air is being released

Welcome aboard!

Do you have the auxiliary drinking water system? If so, it could be the pump for it. It feeds the drinking water faucet and the refrigerator. On some rigs the pump for that unit is under the kitchen sink. If that is the pump, and it is cycling, it indicates a possible water leak.

As I recall it is a 110V pump, plugged into a traditional household outlet, and not connected to the 12V system.

Yes we do have that but the switch is not on. My kids and I just listened to the noise again and it seems like it’s coming from the living area roof? Does the AC unit have some sort of pump that could be doing it? AC is not on but the noise is still happening.

Wonder if you have a bad control box that is turning the compressor on? A hissing noise in the coil is possible once it shuts off and the pressure bleeds down.

Should have added, turn the AC breaker off and see if it stops.

Yep that was it! I waited to hear the noise and then shut the AC breaker off and the noise stopped immediately. Do you think it’s a bad compressor?

No, control box or thermostat. Something is telling the compressor to come on. If you have the new JayCommand or what ever they are using it could be a failure there too. There are separate wires going to the AC control box that turn the compressor on independent from the fan.
