Question about replacing a night/day shade

Hello friends,

The shade over my couch stopped working, or at least it would not come down easily. I took it to the dealer and they ordered a new one, under warranty.

It has now come in and they want me to bring my trailer in to have it installed. That is a pain, as the dealer is a long way away (50 miles round trip).

I have not looked at the shade mechanism as my trailer is in its summer storage, a few miles from home.

Question: Is this something I can do myself? I don't want to screw it up . . .as I have done with some other things.

Thanks

If it is under warranty it may be required to be intalled by an authorized dealer.

I removed and remounted a couple of my day/night shades so that I could add a couple extra support brackets and it wasn't a big deal. Some of the mounting screws might be a little hassle getting at them, but it's doable. I'm sure there are some DIY videos online as well.

Check with your dealer about doing the installation yourself, I wouldn't think it would be an issue.

If you put the shade back in do not use the same holes. Make new ones. The valance you are putting it back into is really thin and if you use the same holes the shade will fall down. Make new holes so that the screws get a good bite.

I changed all mine to mini blinds. The first trip out in our 2013 Eagle I could not get them lowered, everyone told me they would get looser and they did...the strings on two of them broke. Love the mini blinds no fuss no muss
