We have a 2020 30.5CKTS, and our heavy kitchen slide (TV, Fireplace, large refrigerator, stove/oven—all on that one slide. And it is a Schwintek. It works ok, so far. The other big slide only has the table and chairs, and the two recliners. Doesn’t seem like a lot of weight to me, and it is the rack/pinion through the frame set up. It seems to be very slow and struggles a bit for some reason. Not sure how Jayco decides what type of slide to use in each situation.

Jayco was bought out in 2016, most likely the company is cutting costs by going to cable systems, to increase profit. Just my opinion as to why they are going to cable slide outs.

I’ve replaced the Schwintek columns on my kitchen slide. Easy peasy.

X2. Had a 2016 Open Range and had the exact same problems. Replaced 3 gear boxes in 3 years. I also will never own another cable slide system.
