Question....What would you do?

We are brand new to this RV world and are planning an extended trip in mid June. We live in TN and want to go either from home to Texas, west to CA then north ending up in Glacier Nat park. Then back south. Or go Go north and do the reverse. Would be traveling Mid June to mid Sept.Question is: which route would be better with Temps and weather that time of year? Thanks for any input.

I travel to Texas, Houston, a lot for business and would not even think about being anywhere near Houston in August without a 50 amp service and two ACs on our TT.

want to avoid the Black Hills first half of August. Sturgis rally, 75th, is running then and everything is sold out. I would make sure you make reservations especially on weekends any time between mid June and Mid August, once kids are back in school things settle down a bit.

I left the Texas Hill Country in early April, and the temps were already getting into the 80's during the day. Today, I'm in Rapid City, SD. It's May 2nd and it's suppose to hit 88 today!

Point is, you'll run into weather extremes wherever you go; regardless of when you go. That being said, as a general rule, it's going to get hotter and more humid as the summer progresses. So, I'd be inclined to do the south earlier in the season, and finish in the north. JMHO!

Here in Northern California, the weather in the summer months hit the 90's -100+. The coastline is much cooler. It gets very crowded around the central coast. Not sure what part of California you wanted to travel to. If visiting Yosemite, book ASAP. it fills up fast if you can even get a spot. The Gold Country is a nice area, many campgrounds to choose from.
