Quick Awning Repair
My trailer awning seems to be getting near the end of it's natural life; the thread or whatever is failing where it attaches to the trailer at the top.
During our recent camping trip I noticed that one end had ripped away for about one inch and I was afraid that a slight wind would send it flying.
A friend of mine suggested that I go buy a roll of Flex Seal tape and reinforce the awing with it. Wow, this stuff worked great! I cleaned up the aluminum both above and below the awning and stuck the awning directly to the trailer. on each end. It didn't budge in the breezy days that followed for about a week and a half. I was fortunate to have access to a step ladder for safe access.
I'm not sure how long this stuff is going to last but I'm not going to bother installing a new awning 'till it starts to fail. For what it's worth, I've used Eternabond tape before and I'll swear this is the exact same stuff but much easier to find in local stores.
