Recommend an In-Cab Brake Controller

I want to get away from the Curt Echo Wi-Fi brake controller and would like to have a high quality in-cab brake controller installed.

Any recommendations on a particular manufacturer and why you like using them.

Thanks so much,
frank d.

I like the Redarc. Easy install, only one small 3/4” knob that can be mounted anywhere, and the module can be mounted at any angle. Also great “personnel” customer service.

This is it in my 2012 Tacoma

Thank you ultrarider. This seems the way for me to go. I like the fact the Redarc controller doesn’t need to be mounted parallel to the earth, and can be mounted in any direction. I have an empty slot on the console that will put the control knob at a perfect reach while driving. Now I just need someone to install it!

Very simple. If the vehicle is pre wired for a brake controller, it’s just following the instructions, plug & play. You could call Redarc if you have questions. The customer service dept. is top notch. I’ve talked to Mark Bruce,. He helped me with a little issue I had, and I couldn’t be happier.

I am in fact waiting for Redarc to get back to me with just that info and what package to purchase from them for a plug and play install.

Their claim to fame is the unit “continues to function when Bluetooth is lost”.
What I have found is that the lag time can become quite extended to engage the trailer brake, or no engagement occurs at all. Also I find it very distracting when the dial doesnt zero out after you release the brake pedal and you have to tap it a couple times to send the wi-fi a message to release the brakes. I am really not a fan. Also, Curt customer service is non existent. Sorry for the crying. I’ll call the waaaaambulance now.😭

I have one and I don’t trust it. Have you looked at the Autowbrake with the key fob in the vehicle?
