Recommendation for Buffalo, NY

Hi Everyone,
We will be going to Buffalo over June 28-July 10, and looking for a good family (4 with dog) campground. The local state parks are already booked and no spots available.
Thanks,
Steve

Will all that snow they got up there a couple weeks ago be melted by then?

Take a look at Evangola State Park, Lots of deer and right on Lake Erie, with beach access. Lake Erie State Park is also near Buffalo and seems to have some sites available for your dates. Golden Hill State park is also nice, but it is about an hour away from Buffalo.

Here is a link to all the state parks in the Niagara region.

If you need to be close to the city you might try Colden Lakes.

Sprague Brook Park - Glenwood, NY, about 25 miles South of Buffalo.

It is operated by Erie County Parks Dept. It is absolutely a beautiful park for camping with 2 electric loops and 1 non-electric. You should have no problem getting a site if you book soon. (You will get your reservation credentials by mail)

You will like this campground. 3 fishing ponds, miles of hiking trails, a Veteran's Memorial, very spacious sites with trees and new 30 amp pedestals.

Downtown Buffalo is a 30 minute drive, US 219 to I 90 to I 190, no tolls.

Village of Springville is 5 miles away with Super Walmart, Tops Market, restaurants, a brewery, gas, etc.

I don't know what your budget is, or what amenities you need. County or State parks are kinda budget and really don't interest us unless they are on the water and have marina facilities.

My suggestion would be "The Branches of Niagara", which is located on Grand Island, NY. Half way between Buffalo and Niagara falls, and only a 15 minute drive to each. The facilities are awesome.

Grand Island is between the lake effect areas and only got a little snow. Most lawns were still green. Even the Buffalo "Snow Belt" was completely melted after a week.

That's good news to me! What I mean is alot of campers in our area have no idea that Sprague Brook Park has such a nice campground. I want to keep it a secret.

Forester2, go check it out when you get a chance. Erie County put about a millions dollars of Federal Covid money into the park, new roads, refurbished bathrooms and showers, refurbished picnic shelters, etc.

Hi,
Since we’re coming for a softball tournament (from Delaware OH) and will be gone most of the day, ordinary amenities are fine. Budget is what it needs to be to make most of a mini vacation. Want to take the kids to see the Falls.
Thanks,
Steve

The Falls are easy to get to as long as you are near an interstate. So, maybe the best place would be close to the softball field. Where is that?

Don't worry, the falls are open all night.

The best views are from Canada, But you will need passports to get over and come back.
