Reducing shipping charges on Tweetys orders
[B]Just wanted to pass along a way to reduce shipping charges on orders placed with Tweetys, who sponsors our site. Roger Thweatt of Tweetys responded to my inquiry about very high shipping charges. He says that 90% of their items are drop shipped from the manufacturers, who ship ONLY by UPS or FEDEX, both of which charge high rates. However, if you call in your order to Tweetys at 1-800-358-5894, and request postal shipping, they will get the items for you, and then ship to your location via USPS, at about 1/2 the shipping cost to you.
What prompted me to inquire about Tweetys shipping charges was that I found an item on their site for $14 and $15 shipping, total of $29 The identical item was found on another site for $15 and $8 shipping, total of $23 By calling the order in, it would appear that this item would have cost about the same from either source, and I would rather buy from Tweetys any day if cost was similar.
Just posted this FYI.

Thanks for the shipping update. That was the only reason my last purchase did not come from them.

Actually, we made a change today, you can now order postal. Keep in mind it takes us 1-4 days to ship some postal orders as we have to bring some items in and ship then from here. It takes a little longer, but shipping is way cheaper, Since we made the change, 90% still choose UPS so we can ship from a warehouse nearer the customer. It is not uncommon to get 2-3 emails a day congratulating us on our fast shipping, many times they receive their package the next day. Thank you all for your business, and be sure to like our Jayco Owners facebook page!

Lets attempt to keep the shipper bashing down. Title of this thread is "Reducing shipping charges on Tweetys orders" Not "What Shipper suck the least"

It IS good to know that USPS is an option to save on shipping. And cheers to Tweetys for JOF support!
