Hey Ernie - curious why you would want to?

I would imagine it would be a pretty significant undertaking to get all of the adhesive off. I still have some spots where I removed the dealer sticker where it still collects dirt....your is relatively new so I imagine there is not much sun fade on the trailer where you would see where the stickers were.

I would have ordered our trailer without decals but that was not possible. A naked trailer looks better a few years down the road than one with peeling decals. Also when they are removed years later the ghost of the decal can still be seen. Some decals will last a lot longer than others and only time will tell the good from the bad. I would like to remove ours too and then have a paint shop put on some designs that would last. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Agreed. Nothing looks more distracting on a rig that flaking and peeling decals. Its weird how on my Jayco, only the RED decals have a bubble in it. THe silver and blue are just fine, but EVERY red one has an air bubble in it....only one has cracked, but i know its only a matter of time before the rest do the same.

Cross fingers - mine are still in good shape. Personally I would rather replace the decals down the road (I assume Jayco will carry them for years to come), but I also understand why you would want to. It does make it look a little like a FEMA trailer though...lol...

As far as removing decals, the Filon surfaces are the worst to deal with, the aluminum and gel-coat surfaces are easier (when new). I've heard that using some heat (hair dryer, etc.) along the edges of the decal to get the peeling process started works, and add heat as you go. Removing any residual glue left behind depends on the glue, sometimes a good fiberglass cleaner will bring it off. I bet a boat repair or auto body shop would know what to use.

UV damage is a decal's worst enemy. My decals look pretty good considering I have an '05' Eagle, but I apply a thin coat of Aerospace 303 Protectant to my TT 2-3 times a season, and it has helped on curbing UV damage to my decals.

I want to take them off while the trailer is new. A few years from now they will be peeling off.

x2 for Goo Gone after peeling. Also WD-40 or 3M adhesive remover are good options. These only work on the adhesive once you pull the decals off.

Heat and a plastic putty knife is an option. Be careful with how long you heat and how much as you could loosen your exterior wall from the foam core if you do it too much.

Being vinyl it's tough to get the above agents under them to loosen the adhesive.

We have a car dealership and have to remove decals on a regular basis. We use a blow dryer on the high setting as the heat gun can burn a surface if your not careful. We take off the remainder with goo gone..

Removal

I own a custom vinyl/decal shop. I am new to the forum as I just purchased my first TT for my son and I. 1999 Designer 3320. All the vinyl is faded. I am gonna replace it all myself of course. Per as removal of adhesive residue. Goo-Be-Gone is a joke. Here is the best stuff ive used. Its a non-toxic adhesive remover. You spray it on and most times a towel will take it off after 60 seconds for small decals maybe 2 runs at it. Larger ones you will want to use a plastic razor blade to scrape it and then wipe. It will take a couple runs but it works well. Afterwards just use a run of the mill cleaner to finish your cleaning.

Its the Rapid Remover

any other ?'s feel free to email me

Also, u wanna use isopropyl alc. to clean after adhesive remover. Nothing with ammonia in it like windex or something.

This is mainly if you are gonna reapply something new afterwards.

The best option would have a car dealer remove them. They are experts at taking off decals.

They put a car dealer advertisement on my 2008 F250 just prior to me signing the papers. I said nope, the deals off. I charge $100 a month to advertise, either write up that contract, take off your advertisement, or the deal is off. The decal came off and no remaining signs it was ever there. So I know they are very good at removing them. LOL. Some people have asked what would I do if I had already signed the papers. Ask them nicely of course, if no results, I would file a police report for mal-mish on my vehicle and turned it into my insurance company. LOL

I'd suggest checking with your Jayco dealer to see if they offer decal removal service. A guy with a Jayco 18D had his decals removed when he ordered it. Not sure if the removal was done at the factory or at the dealer. Here is a link with a few pics to give you an idea of what a trailer looks like in plain white:

I used my wife's hair drier & a little patiens to heat the decals. They peeled off rather easily. I used Goo Gone to remove the remaining adhesive.

I've always used a hairdryer, some goo gone, and a plastic razor to get the dealership decals off.

There is a 3M product wood grain on the can, If you spray it on the decals and leave it for 15 minutes, the decals will peel off like latex, I will look at a can and get you the proper name soon
