Has any body had experience with renting out their r.v. through one of the rental companies like Outdoorsy or RVShare ? Good/Bad?

I would never rent out my TT.
1) I use my as a possible "escape module" in case of several day loss of electricity.
2) When I got it back I'd have the same problem I prefer to avoid with hotels. Who slept in my bed before me?
3) Will the folks who are renting my TT treat it like I treat mine. Will they abuse it?
4) If I need cash so bad I have to recoup some money by renting my TT out, then I'll just sell the TT and get out of the RVing business altogether.

I'm in agreement with all the previous comments. Long answer: no-never.
short answer: No Never!
We quit staying in strange beds and won't start back.

A friend of mine tried this with his new Class C through an agency. The agency was going to handle all the transactions, maintenance, cleaning, etc. He said the money was much more than covering his loan. But...there were times he couldn't use it when he wanted to, and it was treated so badly by the various renters that after the contract is over he's just going to trade it on a new one. He can't stand to look at it.

I wont let family borrow mine. Look at your insurance policy if you do. I bet there is a clause that is against renting and if you do get additional coverage to cover renters your rate is going to go up. By how much I don't know.

Most people don't have the equipment or experience to tow my unit. That is my biggest holdup.

Nope.
1. I'm still learning to take care of it after a year of ownership. If it has taken me a year + the time I researched prior to purchase, there is no way a renter could know how to take care of it.
2. It's our escape pod in the event of emergency. We want it to remain available to us.
3. It's our bed. And our kids' beds. And our bathrooms. And kitchen.
A major reason for purchasing the camper was to have control over the cleanliness of our vacation quarters.
The last time we stayed in a hotel, we all got sick--with three different illnesses. I'm convinced the hotel room just wasn't clean. (yes, it was nice, but recent news channels have reported on the lack of cleanliness from all price ranges).
4. We keep a lot of our personal things in there. I do not want to move them out, and I don't want them damaged.

And I think the concense is in, NO, NO, and finally NO. Bottom line is if you can't handle the cost of owning an RV, then don't and simply rent one when you need one. An RV is kind of like a comfortable pair of shoes that aren't going to go anywhere with out you. To be clear, RV's are pretty fragil and easy to break. You want to enjoy it not spending your time fixing what someone else messed up, and they will mess and break things.

I would never rent one out.
I did comment on RVShare that the renter would never have the proper equipment to tow my rig safely (i.e. weight distribution hitch correctly set up). Their response was that the owner should tow it to the site for the renter.
Prior to buying our TT, I rented from a place 40 miles away. I towed their 6500lb TT with F250 and obviously no weight distribution hitch and a few times the sway freaked me out. They rent their units out to F150s with just a ball hitch.
The rental only came with a sewage hose, water hose, and wheel chock. Because of quick instructions on how to operate certain features and lack of essential equipment I now own, I thought the leveling jacks was for leveling the RV. Bottom line is that cranked those jacks as much as needed to level. That's the kind of novice activities you'd have to be concerned with.

I can offer the renters perspective.
After owning a TT for ~7+ years we sold it last summer once we bought a second home. We knew all along we didn’t want to stop camping all together, but it was hard watching our RV sit unused while we shifted to the vacation house.
We have an annual NYE camping trip with several families, so this year we rented a class C from Outdoorsy. It was OK, owner was really nice and unit was clean. However it simply wasn’t comfortable being in someone else’s RV. We missed all the camping amenities I had built up in our unit. The rental was not stocked as well as we had in our previous. But the one thing that will likely stop me from renting again is tires. We all know how critical good tire care is and if a tire blowout occurs it can really impact a trip and potentially damage the unit...I won’t be responsible for damage due to someone else idea of acceptable maintenance. When I picked up the unit I didn’t think about tires, I was so focused on ensuring there was no existing damage I neglected to look at the tires...until we got to the CG. The inside tire on both rears were consideredable worn as if they were underinflated or frequently overloaded. I was so anxious driving that unit home I was hard to be comfortable. It’s really unfortunate, we had hoped to use rentals once or twice a year to get our fix; now we might need another plan.

Never. Just like with my house, vehicles or sailboat — no one is going to care about them as much as me. We’ve only owned our TT for a year and I worry enough about ME making mistakes that might damage it. Keeping it as perfect as possible is a labor of love. A stranger is going to care far less. Not worth the worry (or minimal money). I learned long ago not to mix “business” with pleasure.

Yes. I rent out 2 TT on both sites and outside of those sites. So Far so Good. Feel free to ask me any specific questions you may have.
I will add this disclaimer. I do this as a business, so I assume there will be wear and tear and I am not looking at putting my rig in a museum someday. So with that said, I will have a different look on it than someone that is just looking for a little extra cash and will find it hard to accept someone else putting wear and tear on their machine.
I perform a vetting process, along with my $1000 Deposit, and higher rates than others, I tend to attract a better clientele.

I supply my renters with WD and we setup it up before they depart. I deliver as well as allow others to tow with the proper vehicle.

Nope! Never happen with us. We were asked once if friends could "borrow" it, for some house guests they were having. The easiest way out is the insurance clause.
