Replacement Black water pipe

Anyone ever replace a black water pipe.

I hit a rock backing the camper, and the flange that connects the back water waste valve is cracked?

I would be ok replacing the valve on my own but am not sure how to disconnect PVC pipe.

is this job for the dealership, or maybe a local plumber?

Open to comments.

Thanks

That's an easy fix if you decide to tackle it. 1 new ABS 3" valve flange x male pipe and a 3" Fernco coupling. You will need to cut the pipe back just enough to fit the new flange. Pick up a PVC plumbing saw, they work better than a hacksaw. use the Fernco to install the new flange.

I am not a big fan of Fernco’s, but that is one way of doing. Personally I would cut the black pipe back a bit further and use a black pipe coupler and a small piece of back pipe to the new valve, utilizing the proper glue.

Every TT my parents or myself have owned (current HTT excluded) we have busted out the sewer system at some point.

I was bored so I went shopping:
Hub flange spigot - http://www.amazon.com/Valterra-T1005.../dp/B0006MRR9O
Fernco - http://www.amazon.com/Fernco-P1060-3...ds=fernco+3%22
The benefit of the Fernco is this will be easier to fix next time.

Thanks !! I was hoping that it was going to be this easy. Sometimes you just need someone to say yeah you can do that...

I am happy to hear I am not the only one that busted the sewer system... I think I owe my son an apology, I was quite mad at him for letting me back into that rock!

Just offering up another option- I had a rock put a 3/4 inch crack in my waste tanks' drain pipe. I used JB Weld to mend it. Saved me the time and effort of having to replace the pipe. JB Weld provides a rock hard fix...no pun intended.
